DESCRIPTION

Vintage Turkmenistan Tekke Rug are produced by Turkoman tribes which are spread over an area including Turkmenistan (Turkestan), Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and by some of the Tekke tribe which in the 1950's left Turkmenistan and now live on the northern steppes of Iran. The Tribes traditionally have been nomadic sheep rearers, living where possible in suitable pasture lands.

This piece is around 50 to 60 years old and in very good condition
