Also, authentic carpets are made from natural dyes extracted from vegetables, roots, flowers and even insects; this also increases the value of a rug value. However, one must remember that the natural dyes mellow over time. You would be glad to know a distinct fact that, Turkish carpets are known for their complex knots per square meter, more knots a rug commands, superior will be its design and weavings. The number of knots per square inch of the rug has a direct impact on the quality and value of the rug. You may want to determine whether the rug was machine or hand-knotted. You can certainly ask the carpet dealer, but just to be certain, turn the rug over and look at the weaving pattern and knots on the underside. The more knots per square inch, the more expensive the rug.
